The purpose of St. James Quilters is to:

Provide an opportunity for members to gather, learn, teach, and exchange ideas, information, techniques, and tips in the art of sewing/quilting; Participate in community charity projects: Provide a means for members to show their work; and to challenge members to experiment, expand, and improve their art.

Meetings are held the third Friday of each month at St. James Community Center from 9:30 am. until 3:00 p.m.  Feel free to join us and bring your own lunch (sometimes we plan a special lunch.)

Yearly dues are $40.00 which provides for meeting set up/take down, charity projects, and the annual Holiday Party. Please look at our other tabs to learn more about our programs.

Community Service

Each year the St. James Quilters select charities that could benefit from handcrafted quilts.  In the past the quilters have donated to charities such as Waccamaw Boys and Girls Club, Providence Emergency Shelter for Teens, Catholic Charities, Novant Hospital, Samara’s Village, and Cape Fear Hospice.  In 2021 the quilters began making Military Appreciation Quilts, which were donated to local veterans.
